Operations Sunmary
The No. 3 Crude Unit continues to operate at 53 MBPD total charge (44 MBPD crude plus 9 MBPD gas oil). The gas oil HDS Unit was started up on Tues day. The distillate HDS Unit is processing diesel for feedstock Light Blend and the gas oil HDS Unit is processing atmospheric and light vacuum gas oil for feedstock Heavy Blend.
Tiie FCC is operating normally at 30 MBPD with a 990F riser temperature. The conversion averaged 76.4% with an 83.9% efficiency. Gasoline octane is 92.3 RONC. The slurry yield is running a little high at 9%. Investigations are underway to lower this. The No. 2 CTU-AGO is still going to the FCC in order to control the regenerator temperature.
The No. 2 Crude Unit is operating routinely at 40 MBPD. Approximately 1,000 BPD of No. 3 CIU-HVGO is being included with the topped crude from No. 2 CTO in the charge to Cit-Con.
Two reactors on the Cat Poly Unit had to be taken off line this week be cause of high pressure drop. On one of these reactors, the gate is off the block valve in the water line to the reactor shell and it is not possi ble to circulate water through the reactor shell.

The Alky Unit has operated routinely during the past week.
The Thermal Cracker and Casinghead Units' operation were routine this past week. The Thermal Cracker is still scheduled to shut down for decoking and tube replacement on March 5.
The Sulfuric Acid Plant operation was routine this past week.
The Coker was on circulation for six hours last week when problems with the crane and front end loader delayed drilling.
The feed was taken out of the Calciner for about 18-hours on Thursday to re pair the rotoclone internals. During this feed outage, some temporary re pairs to the cooler refractory were also completed. The hot spots that were repaired on the cooler during the shutdown appear to be okay, but a new hot spot has developed in a different location since coming back on-stream.
The Reformers continue to operate routinely at 6.5 MBPD and 12.7 MBPD re spectively. The target octane for the No. 2 Reformer was lowered to 90 RONC.
In addition to the water tube leak reported at the end of last week on B-5, there was another economizer leak this week also. Plans are being made to increase the inspection and testing at the next unscheduled shutdown of B-5 to try and eliminate seme of the weak spots in that boiler and reduce the number of unscheduled shutdowns.
Offsites & Inventories
The Docks handled one ship and 14 barges during the past week. There was no delay time during the past week.
Total gasoline inventory is 474 MB. local gasoline specs changed to interseasonal March 1, and the eighth Pipeline cycle is the last cycle for D grade specs on Northern shipments. We are now on the seventh cycle.
Total distillate inventory is at 268 MB and 107 MB of this inventory is fun gible kerosene.
Vfe should finish unloading the last of the butane tank cars that have been stored in the refinery this weekend. Plans are to start trucking in about 1400 BPD of isobutane and 2,000 BPD of normal butane now that all the units are back on line and gasoline production is lined out.
Propane deliveries to Easton and local truck loading was cut off on Tuesday. Our only outlet now is 1,000 BPD to DuPont in Orange, Texas. Our limited inventory is filling up and unless we can get peoples' attention to start moving seme shortly, we will be burning propane in the fuel system in a few days.
A shipment of No. 6 fuel oil for Florida Light and Power is being loaded today. The sulfur on this shipment will be about 1.1 wt.%. We attribute
Mr. J. T. Zeien Page 3 February 26, 1982 this high sulfur to the high sulfur premium Coker gas oil we are using as cutter stock. It has teen running about 1.23 wt.% sulfur against a normal of .7 to .9%. We believe the reason that the premium Coker gas oil sulfur is up is due to the inclusion of 1,000 BPD of Ponca City decant oil in the charge to*The"Coker. Analysis of a spot sample of this decant oil indicated 83% of it distilled under 916F and had a 1.53% sulfur content.
