In dustry spokesmen attending by invitation were: E. M. Fenner Isaac Weaver Frank Zimmerman - Johns-Manville - Raybestos Manhattan - National Gypsum , Members of the National Air Pollution Control Tech niques Advisory Committee were present, as was Dr. Irving Selikoff of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Messrs. Fenner and Weaver reviewed their comments and suggestions to'the pro posed standards at a meeting of the Asbestos Information Associ ation/North America (AIA/NA) in New York on August 24th. You should look for proposed regulations for asbestos emission which are to be published on or about September 28th. Publichearings on these proposals will be held on or about October 28th.The final standards are expected to becomeeffec:tive on March 25, 1972. Compliance must be effected within 90 days thereafter unless extensions are secured from EPA. AIA/NA plans to put on an important seminar,in New York on September 21st to review.the proposed standards as well as the activities of AIA/NA past, present and future.
