The Rockdale Works Safety and Health Committee met on 1977 May 5, at 3:00 in Room 138, Building 80. In attendance were:

2) D. D. McGregor reviewed the procedure used for the April departmental
safety audits.

3) It was suggested that the year-to-date safety review list and the way in which they are being used to review performance of certail employees be a topic for Safety Meetings occasionally, in order that*all employees understand that this procedure is an attempt to eliminate injuries and not to punish employees.

12) The Bldg. 27 overhead crane has been properly market'd for load capacity and standards for dumping superstructure ore bins have been established. Ore bins must be 2/3 drained prior to being handled by this crane.
13) The Committee discussed the use of cradle type asbestos board as siphon gaskets. Mr. Havins indicated that he will check use of foil

14) The use of Potroom ventilators at crane level along the length of the
Potroom buildings was discussed from the standpoint of working
conditions for the Potroom cranemen. It was generally agreed
that the introduction of ventilators at this level would probably upset
air flows in the Potrooms and generally make working conditions
deteriorate.
15) Mr. Michael Davis, Potman on Section 1 in Room 128, visited the meeting and discussed Potlining Cranemen carrying loads over Potmen on sections in the Potrooms. Mr. Ike Korenek agreed to take this problem back to the Potlining Department and deal with it there. He will report back to the next Committee meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. The next meeting will be on 1977 June 2 at 3:00 PM in Room 138, Building 80.
