Hi Kristen -
I wanted to circle back regarding the request below for Secretary Burgum for a meeting with Cameco CEO. I know the Secretary's schedule is very busy but Cameco CEO Tim Gitzel would love to discuss how the U.S. can reclaim its leadership, both domestically and internationally, in the nuclear industry. Cameco is the world's largest publicly traded uranium company with assets across the mining, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication sectors of the nuclear fuel cycle. Over the years, Cameco has provided uranium and conversion to every U.S. reactor. Cameco also recently acquired an ownership interest in Westinghouse, owner of America's flagship AP1000 reactor technology. Westinghouse is well situated to deploy new reactors both domestically and internationally.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks-
Andrew

From: Shaw, Andrew Sent: Friday, February 21, 2025 10:37 AM To: scheduling_interior@ios.doi.gov Subject: Meeting Request - Cameco CEO
Hi
My name is Andrew Shaw and I am a Partner at Bracewell. We represent Cameco, the world's largest publicly traded uranium company with assets across the mining, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication sectors of the nuclear fuel cycle. Cameco owns mines in Nebraska and Wyoming and the company, though its investment in Global Laser Enrichment, is looking to commercialize next-generation enrichment technology in Paducah, Kentucky. Cameco also recently acquired a 49% interest in Westinghouse, owner of America's flagship AP1000 reactor technology.
Next Tuesday, February 25, through Thursday, February 27, Cameco's CEO Tim Gitzel as part of a delegation with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe. I appreciate that it's short notice but I wanted to see if the Secretary might have any availability to meet with the Cameco CEO and the Saskatchewan Premier. We have also reached out to the White House National Energy Dominance Council, too. We would be interested in discussing how the US and Canada can work to bolster energy security and particularly how Cameco can help the US reclaim its leadership on civil nuclear power.
