As ycu may recall, in Septemcer, 1973, an CSEA inspector issued a citation to Hccker Chemical Corporation. The citation note Hccxer's alleged failure to provide training or. vinyl chloride fo employees who worked in the calendering, compounding and warehouse areas. Hooker contested the citation tor its Burlington, New Jersey facility on the oasis that employees working in these areas were not required to he tr ained or. the ha oar ds of vinyl chloride. Both Hoo<er and CSHA's monitoring of vinyl chloride in the calender and compound facilities indi cated concentrations significantly telcw the 0.5 parts per million (ppm) action level.
