Aim Reference is made to the third topic in your 1/24 memo to E. E. Barth the criteria for an improved binder. First, this Is extremely active and C, A. Aim maintains close contact with tape manufacturers. Our regular Technical Meetings should keep you informed of progress. Second, why "no asbestos"? I suspect the objection to asbestos is based on Its hygroscopicity, which you list as criterion C. At present we are evalu ating an asbestos-polyester tape treated to be non-hygroscopic. If this tape proves OK in all respects, will it be knocked down because of its asbestos content? Third, the reference to "ashtray test" is clear and one that our present tapes meet. However, Criteria D, "106% pass ...
