The composi tion of pigments and oils in this paint gives better results than most Red Leads as It does not have as high an oxidizing power and consequently allows the oil to remain elastic for a much longer period. Has better working qualities and greater spreading power than ordinary Red Lead and dees not settle hard as most Liquid Rea Leads. It should be used as a primer for metal and should be protected with Metalastic or any other metal protective paint as toon as possible. Liquid Red Lead will dry to touch in 8 hours and to reeoat in 36 hours. It will cover to tons of structural steel to the gallon--flat aurfaces, 400 to 600 square feet one coat. See Color Card CO-279. Is b Drams Liquki Red Lead................................................... 2 26 2 16 2 10 KROMIK METAL PRIMER No. 74 The Sherwin-Williams Company offers Kromik Metal Primer No. 74 as the finest material posaible for the priming of metal. It ia recommended as the most effective and economical primer lor structural iron and steel. The pigment is composed of metal chromes and preservative oxides, towhich is due the great effectiveness of this material. Its use will tend to render steel and iron passive, thereby reducing electrolysis and corrosion to a minimum. It is chemically neutral after the film is dry; is less affected than are red lead paints by sulphur fumes and gases, where it may be exposed through abra sions and defects In finishing coats. For brushing apply full body; for spraying reduce with Sherwin-Williams Reducer No. 74 or turpentine If necessary. Dries to touch in two to four hours, to recoat in twelve to eighteen hours. ' Covering Capacity--Structural steel for bridges 3 tons to the gallon. For buildings 2% tons to the gallon. Flat surfaces 500 to 600 square feet to the gallon, one coat. See Color Card CC-311.
