ETERNA WALL
a beautiful alliance
ETERNAWALL IS TRULY ENDURING
WON'T CHIP OR PEEL. Walls get rough treatment but Eternawall can take it. Scuff proof, it won't chip or peel. Cleaning ease comes naturally because Eternawall defies dirt and grime.
STRENGTH. Literally miles of glass fibers reinforce the gypsum core of Eternawall for added impact strength (1.6 miles in 1/2" thick Eternawall).
FIRE PROTECTION. Eternawall's core is made of gypsum, mineral with a memory. It won't burn because it can't burn. Its built-in sprinkler system "remembers" to unlock hidden water when ex posed to fire.
EASY TO APPLY. Score board through the vinyl surface. Snap it. Large panels go up fast. Apply vertically over studs or over exist ing walls with furring strips. Nails of matching colors blend with the board.
ETERNAWALL IS EASY TO INSTALL
LAMINATION
The best method of application is to laminate Eternawall to a gypsum or fiberboard backing board. In this case Eternawall would be nailed 8" o.c. top and bottom only, and these nails would be hidden by the baseboard on the bottom and molding at the ceiling line. Where there is a suspended ceiling, the top nails would be located above the ceiling line. Eternawall should be in stalled vertically, with the edge joints of the two layers of board staggered and the long dimension parallel to the studs. Bestwall Laminating Compound or a satis factory contact adhesive is recommended for laminating.
STUD LAMINATION
The surfaces of Eternawall and framing to be adhered should be free from dust, dirt, grease, or any other foreign substance which would prevent a good bond. Apply a bead of stud adhesive to the face of all wood framing members, except plates. A 3/8" dia. bead of adhesive will normally result in desired spread. Where a joining of two adjacent pieces of Eternawall occurs, 2
parallel beads of adhesive should be applied; one near each edge of the framing member. Use nails at top and bottom only if adhesive is such as to assure bridging between the Eternawall and wood framing. Temporary shoring at the joint may be accomplished by means of a block through which a nail is driven. The nail is driven at the joint between the boards, and the block holds the boards in alignment and against the stud until the adhesive sets firm.
DIRECT NAIL-ON
If no adhesive is used, 1-3/8" long 14 gauge nails should be located a minimum of 16" o.c. These nails are located in the top and bottom butt edges of top and bottom floor line and the vertical edges and inter mediate stud of each panel. Use nails of matching color. Full lamination or stud adhesive application is preferred over the direct nail-on of Eternawall because there are no nails in the field to detract from the appearance, the adhesive adds strength and rigidity to the installation, and the adhesive seals the joints thereby preventing sound leakage.
