Glass yv^f^ At 10:15 A.M. on December 6, 1979, I went to examine/'lhe material being unloaded into the asbestos dumpster located just nortm of the tank loading racks and found violations of the asbestos standard. First, a number of the bags had large tear holes and asbestos fibers were all over the outside. Second,9ome of the bags weighed over 75 lbs. and the employee reports they break open when they are lifted to put them in the dumpster. Third, I found asbestos fibers on the man's street clothing (coveralls are not furnished to the truckers for this job). In view of these violations, it is my opinion that the driver and his helper have as-much potential of asbestos exposure doing this job as the insulators at the tearout site. Ed also thinks that they need a way of lowering the clean barricade around the dumpster so that they can get the truck closer. Not related to this complaint but still on the subject of employee protection, he feels a rack is needed on the truck when they haul welding rigs. DNC/br Dan N. Campbell 6113 23632
