Dear Doctor Martelon: I must apologize for my delay in replying to your letter of May 2nd. The past several weeks have been so full of immediate demands on my time, both in and out of town, that my corres pondence has been sadly neglected. I am especially sorry in the case of your letter, since the problem of which you spoke has been of considerable interest to me, having been involved in a number of similar - or what I take from your letter to be similar problems. Members of our staff often act in the capacity of direct consultants, and we are equipped to serve industry effectively in situations of this type. As I indicated above, this one is in my own province, from the aspect of the medical problem, and I shall be glad to give it a preliminary look to determine what is necessary to establish the facts on which appropriate action can be taken. After a look at the pilot plant and discussing the problem with the proper people, I could then give such advice as may seem pertinent. If that is what your people desire, and will let me know a convenient time, such a visit can be arranged. If they prefer to bring the facts before me here (when I can call in others of our staff) that too can be arranged. The cost of such a consultation at the plant or at this Laboratory will be nominal, and any work we may be called upon to do will be charged for at the actual cost to us of doing it.
