Hereby I send you some interesting Eternit stuff from the 1950's. These documents were produced by Eternit in the first liability case we made against Eternit in the Netherlands in ! 001 1think they made a mistake in producing these documents, because they are useful for us in proving the company knowledge about the asbestos hazards in the 1950's. The documents are in German, Dutch, French, Italian and English. I hope these languages are no problem to you. On the first page you find our great friend, mr Schmidheiny from Switzerland. From his address in Switzerland he was making a research about asbestosis cases in several Eternit factories all over the world. He was acting as secretary of the so called SAIAC SA in Niederurnen, Switzerland. The Swiss Eternit Holding was located in that place. What kind of company SAIAC SA was, I don't know. If you know more about this organization please let me know. It is interesting to see that from Switzerland mr Schmidheiny is collecting information from several Eternit companies all over the world. One of these companies was Eternit Holland, and this company belonged to the Belgium Eternit Holding. I think this proves that there were intense relations between the Eternit company in Switzerland and the Eternit company in Belgium. Beside the Dutch Eternit company you also find reactions from the Thetford mines in Quebec, from the Eternit factory in Italy, from Uralita SA in Spain, from Eternit Argentina, from Pizzareno in Chile, from Fabrica Peruana Eternit in Peru, from Eternit Venozolana in Venezuela, from Everite Ltd. in South Africa and from some Dutch asbestos producing factories. In the letter dated September 22, 1950 (in Dutch) signed by mr L.W. Rijks, representing a group of asbestos cement producing factories, he is referring to, what he calls, an international research bureau in Switzerland.
