It was the highlight of the day for sure. I also wanted to flag this build grant that Kiley's office sent over to the team. When we met with Kiley's office last week they ID'd this project as priority #1 for them. We are uncertain whether earmarks will be included in our surface bill. So, getting him a win via a build grant early in the Congress would be impactful back home for them. Appreciate your consideration. I'm writing to bring to your attention a BUILD grant application that was submitted to DOT on OST-2025-1200 Page 03365 Sierra Club v. Dept. of Transp. - 3:25-cv-06221 SC_EVERSPLIT0029073 Thursday from the Placer County Transportation Agency. Rep. Kiley strongly supports this grant, and if possible (and useful) would welcome the opportunity to discuss this directly with the Secretary or appropriate person on your team. This grant begins the process of unclogging the notorious and rapidly worsening interchange between SR65 and 180 in California's 3rd Congressional District. As detailed in the attached fact sheet, the intersection of these two highways is located in one of the fastest growing areas of the country. These roads simply weren't constructed to handle their current volume -- and the problem is only going to get worse. This highway serves the dramatically growing Sacramento suburbs, including two airports -- Sacramento International and Beale AFB. The highway is economically essential to the region, and due to its proximity to Beale, is also important to the Nation. As an FYI, I also copied Jack Ruddy from the House Transportation Committee to ensure that our Committee team is aware of both our interest and advocacy. We'd welcome your advice on best steps to proceed and I'd happy to arrange a briefing from our local experts on this project. And of course, Rep.
