For many years asbestos products have been used in pumps for .items such as packing and gaskets, la recent years the hazardsof certain forms of asbestos have become veil pub- licized. However, it is questionable whether asbestos presents any health hazard when it is used in pumps. ' Xhe Committee would like to know whether member companies presently use asbes tos in their products and, if so, in what form. Any comments the member com panies may have concerning the use of asbestos in pumps would nine be helpful.
