The Benzene Health Research Program $$ are based on Shell's commitment of $3MM and the agreed funding formula of 30%, 25%, 15%, 15%, and 15% over five years. The numbers are a little strange because it is expected that we would be invoiced 50% of the 1st year's 30% in 2001, etc. I discussed this approach with both Pat Beatty, Chevron, who has been one of the leads, and George Woodall, API staff. The VCCEP numbers are based on an estimated 150K for the next 18 months being divided by 8 companies (still no firm commitments - decision due June 12.) Then an estimated $3MM project for Tiers 2 and 3 over the next several years. I will be confirming these estimates with Stuart and finalizing the tax budget for 2002 this week.
