EYE IBRITATION TEST IM RABBITS
Procedure; One-tenth nillJUiter of undiluted test material was placed into the right conjunctival aac of each of 2 male albino rabbits. After 20
seconds, 1 tred'ced eye was washed with tap water for 1 minute* The treated
eye of the other rabbit was not washed. Observations of the cornea, iris and
conjunctive were made with an ophthalmoscope at 1 and t* hours, and at 1, 2 and 3 days; Fluor-i-strip stain and a slit-lamp bioiBicroscope were used at
examinations after the day of treatment.

Summary; t^^^^^^BB^Hj produced a small area of transient slight corneal cloudTnessand mild conjunctivitis with no iritic effects after
treatment in both the washed and unwashed rabbit eyes. There was copious discharge in the unwashed rabbit eye. The unwashed rabbit eye was normal within ? days and Che washed eye was normal within 7 days after treatment.
This material produced mild ocular effects with severe discharge. In the event of eye contact, flush copiously with water.
