ROWE HEADS NEW PAINT DIVISION Harold Rowe, vice president, has been appointed manager of the paint division which will market the Company's new ready-mixed exterior paints. BOSTON AND PITTSBURGH TO CHANGE CORPORATE NAMES Steps have been taken to change the name of Nationul-Boston Lead Co. to National Lead Company of Massachusetts and National Lead & Oil Co. of Pennu. to National Lead Company of Pennsylvania. It is expected that these changes, made in the interest of uniformity, will become effective shortly after the first of the new year. ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF COMPANY MEN Following are digests of items recently received concerning the activities of National Lead people in club and trade association circles. Rose Elected to Production Clubs Post Carlton H. Rose, head of the pigment and paint department of the Research Laboratories, has been elected treasurer of the Federation of Paint and Varnish Production Clubs. Campbell Made V-P by Golden Gate Club C. E. Campbell, of the San Francisco office of Pacific Coast branch, has been elected vice president of the Golden Gate Paint and Varnish Production Club and has also been appointed chairman of the program committee. Fuchs Named for Credit Ass'n Office Arthur Fuchs, credit manager of the pigment, paint and oil division of Atlantic branch, has been nominated for the presidency of the New York Paint and Allied ndustries Credit Association. Jacobus Elected Secy, of N. J. Paint Travelers Walter N. Jacobus, Atlantic branch sales representative, has been elected secretary of the New Jersey Paint Travelers* Association. PACIFIC COAST PRODUCTION HEAD VISITS M.I. OFFICE L. A. "Dutch" Thompson, production manager of the Pacific Coast branch, was a recent visitor at the General Offices in New York City. -------- !"> * f JTV* t V.?' %\ *> s' ` VETERANS HONORED AT JOHN H LERIS DINNER At a turkey dinner given November 29 by John Lewis & Bros. Co., Phila delphia, for factory employees, veterans were very much in evidence. On hand were 33 veterans of World War II and 23 veterans of World War I. Forty-nine of those who attended had service records of 25 or more years with the Company. S. French Reeves, vice-president of Lewis, acted as toastmaster. Brief talks were made by F. W. Eckfeldt, Plant superintendent, J. J. Sullivan, chief electrician, Sgt. J. J, Lonergan, USAAF, and E. J. Vanderwalker, who was associated with the advertising and technical departments of the Carter White Lead Co. for a number of years prior to World War I, died in Chicago on November 25. After leaving the Carter Company, Mr. Vanderwalker served as editor of painting trade journals and wrote numerous widely-read books on painting and allied subjects. He was nationally recognized as an authority on painting and decorating. Mr. Vanderwalker was 60 years old and is survived by his widow and five daughters. / 0000-NLI-000024910
