DeBernardi Date July 7, 1981 subject Renewal of Stauffer Chemical Company Information Exchange Agreement As you will recall, the subject agreement with Stauffer Chemical Co. expired in January, 1978. A proposal was made by Stauffer to reactivate the agreement in 1979 which was not acted upon due to the expected plant expansion using new technology in oxy and direct chlorination, and a lack of need for exchange information in the VCM and EDC purification sections of the plant. The strategy was to reconsider renewal of the agreement should the plant expansion not be approved. Therefore, with the recent approval of the plant expansion project, I recommend that we no longer pursue an information exchange agreement with Stauffer related to the VCM and EDC purification sections of the plant. The licensing agreements related to the oxygen based oxy system and the boiling liquid direct chlorination reactor contain information exchange sections related to these operations.
