Your findings bear out my original suspicion that Dr. Kozelka's findings of" .145 mg. of lead in blood were all out of proportion to his normal finding of .05-mg. of lead in 1650 cc. of urine. I think you may be interested in knowing that before I reported to uur hospital chemist, Miss Rerry, your findings in this case, she reported to me that two 24-hour specimens 1700 cc. and 1750 cc. in amount were .070 and .072 respectively as to lead content t'hese give values of 1041 mg. per liter which compare very well v/ith your .035 mg. of lead per liter. Also much to my surprise she reported that. 52.282 grams of whole blood contained .0133 mg. of lead or .026 mg. of lead per 100 grams of blood. Phis also compared favorably with your finding of .02 by the dithizone and ,035 by the spectrographic method. This is more noteworthy in that in her determinations of blood and urine have all been by the chromate method. This confirms my impression that she is a very careful chemist. Within a few months R hope to take advantage of your offer and have her come to your laboratory to familiarize herself with your techniques. In this particular case of R believe that with your laboratory cooperation we have been able to spike one more case of this PhD striving to pass as a medical authority.
