Reynolds VVV 000011687 CHEMICAL MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION January, 1991 CMA EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM WORKSHOP BEAUMONT, TEXAS CMA is sponsoring an Emergency Response Team Workshop in Beaumont, Texas on March 5-7, 1991. The workshop sessions will be conducted at the Hazardous Materials Training Field and the Beaumont Plaza Holiday Inn. The workshop has been expanded to three full days to allow the students to participate in the following four hands-on field exercises: 1. Containment and Cargo Tank Uprighting 2. Incident Analysis Scenario 3. Basic Tank Car Valve Repair 4. Patching Non-Pressure Containers Additional information on the other subjects covered in the workshop is included in the enclosed brochure. Instruction for the sessions will be handled by Clyde Strong, Lamar University training staff and guest instructors. The Past Experiences session deals with real incidents -- what happened and how they were handled and is conducted by chemical industry personnel with first hand knowledge of the incidents. Arrangements have been made for participants to be transported by bus between the Holiday Inn and the Training Field before and after each day's sessions. The cost is included in the registration fee. The registration fee also includes a reception with an open bar on the evening of the 4th, three luncheons, coffee breaks and a course notebook. There are two Holiday Inns in Beaumont. See the brochure for a map and the address and telephone number for the one we will be using -- (The Beaumont Plaza Holidome). The workshop involves three full days of training. The last session will not be over until 4:00 p.m. on March 7. The certificate which is given to each student on completion of the course states that the registrant "received 24 hours of training." If a student leaves early and does not complete the full course, we cannot issue the certificate. Anyone signing up for the Workshop needs to keep this in mind when making their return travel reservations.
