TECHNOLOGY MANAGER OPINION FOR ASBESTOS HANDLING UPGRADE, CELL SERVICE DEPARTMENT, LOUISIANA DIVISION
As manager of the Chlor-Alkali Technology Center, I have reviewed the authorization for $400,000 to upgrade the asbestos handling in the Cell Manufacturing and Services area.
The present debagging system is a manual operation. Installation of the new equipment will convert this activity to an automatic remote operation. This project will also improve the room temperature control and air filtration capability.
There is no unusual technology being applied and the project can be accomplished by the present staff.
I am satisfied the the Technology Center responsibilities have been met, and recommend approval.
