M. ?ollard We have followed a -program of pre-employment chest x-rays for seven years In addition, all men who work in dusty areas of our asbestos-cement plants have been filmed biannually and men vorking with perlite have been filmed twice a year. All films have been interpreted by Dr* Wright* Re ports have been reviewed by Laverack it Haines and employabilit"^ b*sfd on their recommendations* ^ X .*_ . 4 Dr* Wright has viewed more than 15,000 films for us during this period of time* Two problems were first revievedr 1* Time limit for filming and informing plants of results. 2. Techniques*of local radiclogista i- Generally, ye have -thirty'days from the time the film, is -made' until the new employee's result can be at the plant. This is so because moat union contracts.permit this length of time as a probationary period before a new man may become a member of t he`union* Because of a compensation lav decision in Hew Jer sey, we have only nine days to inform those five plants of the "result of'the film. If loc.al radiologist's promptly mail films $ to Dr. Wright, there is r.o difficulty in meeting this time re quirement* Dr* Wright is still concerned about filming techniques of some radiologists.
