My dear Bob:
I recently received a le tte r from Mr. Evans of the Wakefield Oil Company in which he sta tes th at th e ir preliminary experiments on the use of tetraeth y l lead in lubricating o il are d istin ctly encouraging. I am wondering i f you have carried out any experiments on your end of the game and also whether you have any comments to make on Calingaert*s report on the vapor pressures and rate s of evaporation.
I f th e ir resu lts continue to be favorable we may be approached in the not too d ista n t future ' fo r supplies of te tra e th y l lead, and I would like to be able to give them some sort of an answer.
