ThE PACT THAT THE MEETING LAST YEAR WAS SO SUCCESSFUL CALLED FOR A REPEAT PERFORMANCE. 1 FOR ONE FEEL IT IS GOOD TO GET AWAY FOR A FEW DAYS AND I TRU8T YOU WILL ALL BENEFIT FROM HAVING THIS MEETING IN A RELATIVELY RELAXED ATMOSPHERE, AND WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AVAILABLE HERE. Since our last meeting, there have been many noteworthy happenings. WE HAVE ALL GROWN A YEAR OLDER MUCH AS M06T OF US HATE TO ADMIT IT. First of all, VlE SEEM TO HAVE WEATHERED THE THREAT OF A BUSINESS RECESSION ANO NOW ENJOYING THE BENEFITS OF A RISING ECONOMY. Vffi HAVE SEEN A GREAT POLITICAL CHANGE IN OUR GOVERNMENT, ANO ARE PRESENTLY LOOKING AT AREAS OF POLITICAL TURMOIL ALL OVER THE WORLD. The object of this Institute is neither polit ical nor profit-making, however, all of US ARE BUSINESSMEN ANO CANNOT BUT BE COGNIZANT OF AND AFFECTEO BY CHANGING EVENTS. The OUTLOOK TOOAY IN MY OPINION CERTAINLY IS MORE CONDUCIVE TO OPTIMISM THAN AT OUR LAST MEETING, A SITUATION THAT FOR ALL PF US 8H0ULD GREAT A FEELING OF GREATER SECURITY THAN THAT WHICH PREVAILED A YEAR AGO. The ACTIVITIES OF OUR INSTITUTE DURING THE PAST YEAR HAVE MOVED ALONG SMOOTHLY. Our office has seen extremely busy since this is the year we publish a complete new Data Book as well as a Supplement to the Brake Shoe I dent ifi cation Catalog. To GIVE YOU SOME IDEA OF THE VOLUME OF WORK HANDLED BY OUR CAPABLE STAFF, HERE IS A CONDENSED LISTING OF PART OF THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. t.
