As soon as you have finished with the reprints on lead, I would appreciate your returning them. The article on chemical burns ie an extra copy that I have. You may keep same. I have a letter today from Dr* Price concerning Prank Randall. Will you tell him, please, that the urinary lead is in the neighborhood of one milligram per liter by spectrographic analysis. Even allowing for a possible thirty percent error by our present method, this constitutes a very high figure, and I believe satisfactorily establishes the diagnosis of lead encephalopathy in Randall's case. Interestingly enough, we were able to determine lead in his spinal fluid, there being approximately .02 milligrams per 100 c.c. This is probably the first time lead has been found In the spinal fluid, as former determinations were made by chemical methods which are not sufficiently sensitive for the small samples which one necessarily obtains. The chemical analysis on Randall's urine will be completed the latter part of this week, and as soon as I have the final report, I will communicate with you: or Dr. Price.
