Mr. Cox has served the state of South Carolina in a variety of capacities, and his work has been instrumental in advancing many crucial projects that improved the quality of life for American families and brought to life President Trump's vision for big, beautiful infrastructure. Here are just a few of the career achievements I think will make him an asset to your board: More than 35 years as a successful real estate developer and Executive Vice President of Burroughs and Chapin Company in Myrtle Beach, helping develop the Grand Strand into the national destination it is today. Led the development efforts on the Multi-County Park Expansion of Myrtle Beach, transforming more than 20,000 acres into a residential and commercial development including a 200-acre mall, 350-acre commercial resort complex and numerous retail and commercial centers. In addition, the project had a large infrastructure component, expanding and improving the road network for residents and visitors to a booming area. Served on the RIDE Committee for Horry County, locally driving large-scale projects and creatively leveraging money to make transformative infrastructure improvements in the region. Elected as Chairman of the South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission twice during his eight-year tenure. Provided oversight and leadership for tremendous reform of statewide legislation to advance transportation in South Carolina and deliver projects quickly.
