1. GENERAL
lol Scope - this specification covers the materials and applica tion procedures for vinyl aabesto tile floors and rubber base where called for on the drawings.
1.2 Intent - The intent of these specifications is to set forth the quality of materials of construction and workmanship required for the performance of the work involved.
lo3 Manufacturers* Products are named for the purpose of describ ing the material desired, and such naming shall not be construed as preventing the use of materials of equal kind, quality, and color, manufactured by others, unless such other materials are specifically denied acceptance herein. Samples of proposed alternate materials together with complete physical and chemical properties and data, as applicable, shall be submitted to the Design Division, Architectural and Civil Section, for approval before any such materials are shipped ^*4 to the site, unless this requirement is waived for the material in volved.
1.4 Definitions
1.4.1 Reference to "Du Pont* means any authorised representative of E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc.
1.4.2 Reference to the "Design Division" means the Design Division of Du Pont. 1.4.3 Reference to "Federal Specification" shall mean the following authority:
