It is the opinion of the Medical and Toxicology Department that a stabilizer and plasticizer system should be utilized that would not act as a skin irritant or skin sensitizer. This would prohibit th use of any organic tin stabilizer. Plasticizers which have been found not to be irritants or sensitizers include "Flexol DOP, 426, C-55, 10-10, R2H, and 8NS, Mr. G. G. Himmler suggests the following vinyl films, which meet th above requirements: 1. KDA-2070 General Purpose Film. Although this contains 1.5% ERL-2774 which is a skin sensitizer, on the basis of the successful band-aid application it is expected that there will be no difficulty here. 2. KDA-2936, the low extraction baby pants film having a 2$/lb. premium and proven low extraction characteristics. 3. VBAA-9402 cast film if a glossy transparent film should be necessary.
