The following work "was done during the nontn of ,/ctober at the Arapahoe Station.
No.2 boiler was shut down Cct. 3 so that we could repair the motorised condensate .sake-up valve. The disc had unscrewed itself from the ataa nut. The seat was damaged very little, it was lapped in with the east-disc, heat urd olsc were tac.* welded tc valve assembly.
The west icat valve in the No.2 seal oil unit was checked for sticking. ?alve was .'amoved and not. i. g could be found wrong.
than the boiler was abut down,the master lug on the east front header leaked.This was removed, .-lug and gasket replaced.!eat was ..!< boiler was returned to operation that same evening.
No.ii boiler was turned over to us let.6th to check and repair the
steam air heater tubes that were leaking. ! tested the coils with 125 lbs. cold water, ne tube leaked on top. This was repaired and again tested. No other leaks were found.
.r.sulati n was removed from inlet on outlet pipes from each coil, and Nagle pitcher Stalastic compound put in space between pipes and duct, his was done with the thought that cold air wjs coming inside from the duct , then getting between insulation and hot pips and then condensing.
The be3 -.ear was started at noon Cct.6th. No leaks have been reported.
A trench was dug in the north ash pond from the inlet pipe to the northeast corner. In three weeks time the trench and that corner of the lake is full of ashes. It looks like they are putting more In than we are taking out.
n experiment was made on the center ash pend to see what was the best way to move the ashes. The boiler seal overflow line that ran to this laka was ran over to the pump pond, .t was found we ceuld dig better with a drag line. The ashes were piled up to let the water run out, t.-en leaded in the trucks with a loader* we are moving from 150 to 175 yards a day with two trucks* Contractors were called and oida made on tnia Job.
No.3 and h control air compressors were inspected and aff-ar coolers cleaned. No.2 compressors low pressure cylinder was repacked. All compressors are now in service.
No. 5 wing conveyor belt ran over and rubbed the frame. et coal stuck to one of the pulleys and forsed the belt over. j.t cut the rubber off the north edge of the belt. This was trimmed and given repeated coats
of Goodrich -lastikon 169 adhesive.

The motors or gear boxes cant be much more. 13 cell motor was removed
again because of naiat'ira, and baked. It is sack .md in service.

to 1C. _t is now in service. 1C motor was returned and ran Cct.21st. Checks out K.
Pew ooge Timken all steel pillow block bearing were installed, aotc-r and fan were aligned. The fan shaft has a sag in it.Fan was run with hot gases one niferrt and then left running fo" us to check,at the time it was still running out. ve will again try oo run that fan wren lead peraits so that we can see wbat it does when it is hot.

Nc.U power pep was again reseated. It held for a'oout 10 days, .derations popped this valve and it would not reseat* 'his valve is out of serviceat this time. i?e are having a metal box made to cover this valve.
I believe this covers all jobs cf an; '.oertance. All routine maintenance has been taken care of.
