Quillen, O.D. # 11701-22, an industrial hygiene Investigation was conducted at the Delco-Moraine Division, GMC, 1420 Wisconsin Blvd., Dayton, Ohio. Data was collected utilizing a general radio model 1565-B sound level meter. All levels measured were steady in nature and would represent the exposure level throughout a full shift. Attached are the current noise standards as set forth by the agency's indicated. It Is emphasized that cited maximum tolerance levels are valid for a high percentage of the population but not necessarily for specific individuals. Because of the wide variations in susceptibility of individuals to the effects of noise, some may suffer hearing damage or high annoyance when subjected to exposure values equal to, or even below, those limits given. In the attached standards. Koise data collected In the departments wherein Mr. Quillen worked while at Delco-Moraine represent conditions as they presently exist. Inasmuch as Delco-Moraine has an on going noise reduction program at their facility. It would appear a valid assumption that noise levels could have been higher in the past. Following are levels measured in the departments Mr. Quillen's statement indicated he had worked in. Department 5- 95 dBA - Officials of Delco statedthe conditions in this department are much the same as they would have been during Mr.Quillen's early years. The entire department Is classified as a noise hazardous area with the wearing of hearing protection mandatory. V.\. - 3- j. Governor, Janw A; Rhodes-* lnduatriaj;Cbmmlsskm".ChalrmM, William W.
