My letter of 1981 MAR 30 advised all plants to replace asbestos Molten Metal Marinite (094-210-xxxx) with Marinite-C (094-218-xxxx). However, on the basis of the poor results obtained with the use of Marinite-C in troughs, dams and floating skimmers at the Tennessee Operations - South Plant --we are rescinding our directive to replace asbestos Molten Metal Marinite until additional tests and plant trials are completed.
