The submission date is now May 9. 1980. 2 - In reviewing the plans for OSHA's March 20-21 conference to "Reevaluate the Toxicity of Vinyl Chloride, Polyvinyl Chloride and Structural Analogues", Mr. Hadley indicated that he is working with Dr. Infante to include industry speakers on the program. At this time it appears that Dr. Infante is only willing to accept a speaker on the ICI dust study and Dr. Cooper on the USA VCV epidemiology follow-up study. Dr. Infante has invited the following industry members by direct invitation to participate: Dr. Maury N. Johnson - B. F. Goodrich Mr. R. N. Wheeler, Jr. - Union Carbide 3 - Mr. Jean-Claude Thomas discussed the work which has been done to evaluate Dr. Maltoni's animal studies with vinyl chloride by statistical procedures. This was presented at a meeting in Paris in November 1979 at the time Dr. Maltoni presented his data on animal studies. It would be desirable to have this' material included in the OSHA conference but Dr. Infante has rejected this proposal. 4 - Mr. Jean-Claude Thomas reported that there have been two recent European VC feeding studies. The CIVO study was sent to FDA in the spring of 1979. There has not been any report on the BIBRA feeding study. 5 - After a lengthy discussion. It was suggested that further detailed critiques and data on PVC and VCM health matters could be submitted at the time of the May 9 comment deadline. 6 - In discussing the ICI dust study it was agreed that the Health Committee re commend that the PVC Steering Committee be certain that the industry has been adequately informed of the observations made. 7 - The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted.
