In response to your reguest for information on "airborne intake of lead from kilns", t do not know of such information. Within the past year, I baverpersonally taken samples of air around kiln areas in order to try to determine wh whether metals ere released in sufficient quantities during lijn firing. The small amount of information to date has not been conclusive. We have taken samples and analyzed only for the content of lead and cadmium. However, to be on the safe side, we have recommended that kilns be hooded end the exhaust released to the outside air.
