Citation No. B170S/003, datad August A, 1977, (copy attachad), hat baan issued by OSHA for our failura to aonltor aabaatoa exposure to sffactad asiployaa, and failura to naka available comprehensive nodical axanlnatloos for employes engaged in occupations exposing than to airborne levels of asbaatoa. Thera vat no penalty associated with this Citation.
The following actions have been cakan to conply with the abacenent period
established in Citation No. B1705/OOS:

1. Tvo saploycs were scheduled for and underwent conprehenslve nodical examinations on August IS, 1977 at the Norwood Hotplcal under the supervision of Dr. F. V. Musehe. Plant Physician.
2. Tha engineering Oeparcaent it currently seeking alternatives to the use of "Carlock", a graphatlxad asbestos material used for seal rings. The alternatives Include: the elimination of "Carlock" completely; che use of ocher naterlals; the elimination of "Carlock" on a portion of the various product lines; redesign of che eeal rings if necessary, etc.
3. Manufacturing-Engineering Depsrtnenc will not perform manufacturing
