I think I t should be clear, from our work, and from th a t:o f these government agencies th a t th ere is no p o s s ib ility of the occurrence of a case of acute lead poisoning as the r e s u lt of contact w ith leaded g aso lin e, or exposure to its vapors. As a m a tte r of f a c t , th e w o rs t s i t u a t i o n t h a t was e v e r feared by anybody in connection w ith th is type of exposure was t h a t as th e r e s u l t o f lo n g c o n tin u e d s l i g h t e x p o s u re , ch ro n ic cases of lead poisoning m ight o cc u r. Even th is p o s s ib ility has been excluded by the observations and e x p e rie n c e s of th e p a s t t h i r t e e n y e a rs so t h a t i t how 2 appears q u ite c le a r , and is alm ost g e n e ra lly understood by a u th o ritie s , th a t lead poisoning is not to be expected in any person as a consequence of the handling of leaded g a s o lin e .
