Minutes of previous meeting accepted as reported. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS & OLD RECOMMENDATIONS NOT DISPOSED OF: (214) Odor in Asbestos Treating Area - W. Reybold reported that parts are in and project should be completed in one month. 6. RECOMMENDATIONS COMPLETED SINCE LAST MEETING: None 7. MONTHLY MEDICAL REVIEW: Department Type of Injury Safety Discussion Corflo Maintenance Possible fracture of nose Pulled tendon in neck Guard on fork truck will be altered. Supply new wrench. Research Lacerated finger More caution when using machine. Filament Winding Maintenance Sil-Temp Nail puncture right foot Eye injury Pulled muscle back Improve housekeeping. Use side shields on glasses. Repair floor. 2- June 9, 1966 8. PLANT HOUSEKEEPING & INSPECTION REPORT: Minicel Department very much improved, waste in aisleways has been cleaned up. Research storage area improved. Housekeeping problem of Minicel pellets on the floor is a safety hazard. Problem will be reviewed by Commercial Products Representatives and reported at next meeting. Asbestos Storage Bins - Housekeeping should be improved. Rocks and holes in driveways could cause accidents and should be repaired. The condition of the outside areas was recently brought to the attention of W. Reybold and will be improved. 9. NEW RECOMMENDATIONS & OTHER COMMITTEE REMARKS: (214) Guard fork lift trucks. It was recommended that the guards for the fork lift truck used in Commercial Productions be altered to prevent removal when used. Eye examinations for all hourly enploye^' were recently completed by the Plant Nurse ~nd those employees for whom prescription glasses were recommended will be contacted for further examination. It was recommended that wearing of shorts be discontinued and all employees be required to wear a shirt. Orientation program for Safety Practices and Company Policies will be reviewed at the next meeting. 10. REMARKS OF SPECIAL GUESTS -None 11. Meeting Adjourned: 4:20 P.M.
