Box 119 Ragland, Alabama 33131 Dear Hr. Sidle: I appreciate you taking the time last week to discuss with m e the disposal site used by CAPCQ. I also Inspected the dtIs peesal site and talked with the operator. To comply with M r Pollution and Solid Waste Regulations, we recommend that the following measures be taken immediately at the disposal site: (1) All baghouae waste a n d dust waste should b e covered with two feet of earth. This includes the waste on the back side of the disposal site along tbe fence line. (2) An area of the landfill should be designated for dust that is separate from scrap pipe. 3) A plan for landfilling the dust should be established. Presently, holes are being dug at random for disposal. This is a waste of .land and vary confusing to the operator. (4) All baghouse dust must be in enclosed containers and placed in prepared trenches intact. Six inches of earth should be placed over the waste on a daily basts, Two feet of compacted earth should be placed over each completed trench. We appreciate your cooperation is this matter and a re-inspection of the site will be made in approximately thirty (30) day_s to see what progress has bees made.
