Dear Dr. Carlisle: Mr. Crutchfield told.me that you have a case of lead poisoning on which I gather that you wish us to give you some assistance by way of making some analyses. I felt that Crutchfield was a little vague on whether you wanted us to make some analyses or whether you were offering me an opportunity to make some observations on an unusual case. In any case, I thought It better to inquire what your wishes were in the matter. I should be glad tb give you any assistance I can if you need it or wish it for any reason. As you suspect, however, we are dreadfully busy at the present time and we are limiting our routine work as ajruch as possible. For this reason I did not want to send you containers or make the analyses until I was quite sure you would wish i t . If you wish some samples analyzed, I should be glad to send you containers by air mail together with instructions for their collection. We shall make a charge to cover the cost of our work only if the patient can afford It or if some other me chanism exists for carrying the expense without burden.
