Gentlemen:
Eeferring to your letter of October 3rd, 1921, requesting
that the privilege of using the Anaconda brand in connection with the
Bale cf Anaconda "ihite bead be granted you under the terms of the
oontraot between this Company and The Glidden Company.
She Glidden Company has requested that such privilege be
extended to you. 7e understand that your request is based upon that
provis.on of Paragraph 4 of the oontraot between this Company and
Ihe Glidden Company, exeouted on the 25rd day of September, 1921,
which reads &b follows:
'In order that any BUch subsidiary may become entitled to use any suoh Anaconda brand, Glidden must first in writing request that such privilege be granted to suoh subsidiary and the subsidiary must likewise in writing request that Buoh privilege be granted, and agree that the same shal be held and enjoyed only in accordanoe with the terms and con ditions of this agreement and will be subject to termination upon the termination of this agreement or the termination for any cause of Glidden*s right to make use, in acoordanoe with the terms of this agreement, of an Anaoonda brand, and upon an express agreement that the right of suoh subsidiary to make use of suoh a brand shall be diBoontlnued at any time upon a written notiee from Glidden to the subsidiary and to Anaconda requiring that the use be discontinued''.
