PCB losses decreased to 1 lb/day from 2 lb/day of last month. B. Incinerator losses decreased to .40 lb/day from 5 lb/day of last month. C. Waste Treatment Influent. Losses averaged 7 lb/day compared to 15 lb/day of last month. D. Waste Treatment Effluent. Losses averaged 5 lb/day compared to 11 lb/day of last month. II. Project Status Project 4438 'Reduce water flow to sewer', construction started in January. Estimated completion date 4/1/74. Project 8020 'HC1 Off-gas Scrubber'. Started operation on 2/27. Will run test program. Need to establish the conditions. Completed. for a 30 day best operating III. Program Status 1. HC1 Off-gas. The sewering valve was opened about 10 hrs. during the first two weeks of the month. 2. Blow Tank Off-gas. No change pending completion of Project 4438. 3 Rip Track. Investigations Elimination of car washing at the repair track and improvements in the drum handling area at the incinerator are reflected in decreasing losses from these areas. Grab samples taken around the.sewer system indicate low background losses from areas where no Aroclor or HC1 off-gas is used or manufactured. Samples taken downstream of the HC1 using area indicate that some of the Aroclor in the off-gas is finding its way to the sewer.
