Dear Doctor Kehoe, 6th July lany thanks indeed for your two letters dated With regard to the medical regulations and placards, I am proceeding with having translations made, but was delayed for 3ome time as I thought it best to send out copies of the regulations which incorporate reference to The Associated Ethyl, rather than to the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation. These are being executed in French, German, Italian, Dutch, Roumanian, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. . With regard to the minor-languages, I have sent these in each case to one of the well established Oil Companies with whom we can only place reliance for the accuracy of the translation: in any case I think the results will be vastly superior to any which might come from a firm of translators. Mr.Morgenthaler has recently sent me the German translations which include the regulations governing drum mixing and the two forms of bulk mixing. I am under the impression that Mr.Morgenthaler has already sent you copies of this booklet etc., but in case he has not .done so, perhaps you would let me know and I will have these sent on to you. At the same time, would you indicate whether you require to have copiescf the regulations in the other languages. . I also sent copies to Les Roberts for Spanish and Portuguese translations, leaving the latter to his discretion. I also suggested to him that it might be easier for us to have the booklets printed in England, but again I left this to him, and I gather from your letter that the books in Spanish are actually being printed. I am making arrangements to have the new paragraph 8 in the "Instructions for mixing Ethyl Fluid from cans" translated in accordance with your request. With regard to the Technical Managers meeting of the 'Standard Group which I attended in Paris, I was correct in my anticipation that the question of DABGmixing.was raised. Considerable interest vias shown in the matter, owing to the fact that homogeneous mixes were _ obtained without' further recirculation. The real Crux of the matter is the fact that Air Command have ordered that the entire gasoline service at certain vital points overseas shall be completely protected and rendered invisible. We therefore have to face the fact that Ethyl mixing and storage facilities will be installed underground, although as I pointed out these will not be operated at any great frequency. We therefore have to advise on the best method of treatment of this problem. There is really no need whatsoever to offer an explanation for the unavoidable delay in replying to my various letters, for I personally fully appreciate the fact that you must find it extremely difficult to fit in such correspondence, together with the very large volume of work with which you deal, but I always feel that you burn much too much midnight oil, and I therefore would like to take this opportunity of conveying my very best wishes to you for your vacation.
