It is apparen^that these values for both blood and urine are well within the normal range and do not indicate significant occupational exposure. In the light of these analyses, especially considering the meti culous care in their collection, it is probably correct to assume that they represent true values and that those reported earlier (July 21, 1942) may have been contaminated,as pointed out in Dr. Xehoe's letter of July 27- As to the possibility of hot weather and excessive water intake having 3ome bearing on the high blood and low urine lead concen trations, there is evidence to demonstrate a variation in the urinary excretion dependent among other factors on urinary volume and seasonal influence, but the blood lead level is apparently not influenced by these factors, so that there is no inverse rela tionship between high blood and low urine lead levels.
