As you know, Du Pont has already conducted significant analyses of that data base, and will be pleased to participate in the further review. Comments on Chapters 11 and 13 which bear on NHANES II are being sent to you in a separate letter from Drs. Snee and Pfeifer. At this time, I do not have specific comments on the individual chapters, beyond those I made at the January 1920 Workshop. Because Chapter 13 was in such an early stage of development at the time of the workshop, and some of the critical points from other chapters were still unresolved, I feel it would not be productive to critique the current version. I do, however, look forward to the opportunity to review a later version of the chapter, as well as the Executive Summary. I emphatically agree with those who urged that special care be taken so that Chapter 13 and the Executive Summary accurately reflect the balance of scientific evidence from the supporting chapters.
