Currently the C-8 levels in the most exposed areas average around 0.1 PPfi or 20% of the AEL. The blood levels for the people in these areas averages between 2-3 ppm- The detection limits for C-8 in air is currently 0.01 ppb, and the Ixmit in blood is 0.1 ppm. |1> In setting the goals of 10% of the AEL I just cut the existing level of 20% of | the AEL by 50%. The basis of this is that we are going to reduce C-B emissions from 50% to 80% (or about 1/2). The goal to 3% ( REALLY SHOULD READ 2%) was determined by us geting down to the detection limit in air. A 10 fold reduction from 0.1 ppb to 0.01 ppb (detection level) would get us to 2% of the ABL. This would in-tum get us near the detection level in blood. These numbers (actual exposure and blood levels and the relationship betweeen them) are -not hard science and should not be interpreted that way.
