December 3, 1929 Mr. 3 A. Forcier, Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan.. Dear Mr. Forcier: ^ * Mr. arrived .in Cincinnati on Saturday night. I immediately put h im in the hospital under observation and will probably keep him there for a week to ten days# His condition at present is entirely satisfactory. In fact, it is so satisfactory that it is difficult to arrive at certain conclusions as to the cause of his illness# thongh I believe we shall be able to do so In due time# I wish to thank you for making it possible for him to come to Cincinnati. It is not that his illness Is of serious import to himself at all# but the Importance of his case to me resides in the fact that this Is the first instance of a ease that has resembled poisoning from lead in handling Ethyl Gasoline, and it is of the greatest Importance to establish a diagnosis in his case one way or the other. I might say at this time that I am very doubtful, despite the opinion of the physic eisns in Gravelbourg who saw him some time ago, that his condition is due to lead poisoning* From the story which he has told me I am inclined to the bellef that his symp toms follow on a severe exposure to gasoline vapors. Whether or not this is true we should be able to prove in our subsequent studies. At any rate it is a very important matter to run the thing down as thoroughly as possible.
