T elephone c o n v e rs a tio n w ith W illa u e r inform ed us t h a t a c h ild o f unknown age and w e ig h t h ad sw allow ed an unknown q u a n tity o f t r a c t o r f u e l on th e 29th o f F eb ru ary a t an un-nam ed l o c a tio n , and had been in coma f o r th e p a s t two d a y s . The b lu e dye was a m ix tu re o f g re e n and y e llo w , th e g ree n b e in g l- h d ip arato lu id o -an th raq u in o n e, and th e yellow b diazobenzene, 1 phenyl- 3 m e th y l p y r a z o l i n e . The- q u a n t i t i e s em ployed w ere 2 g m s ./ l ,0 0 0 (5 m gm ./L ). Mr. W illa u e r was inform ed t h a t th e dyes would be n o n -to x ic in th e q u a n ti ti e s in which th ey w ere in g e s te d , and would be o f no s ig n ific a n c e in r e la tio n to th e t o x i c i t y o f t h e f u e l t h a t h a d b e e n t a k e n i n . Ke was f u r t h e r a d v is e d t h a t th e a c c i d e n ta l i n g e s tio n o f d i s t i l l a t e s was n o t uncommon i n c h il d r e n , and t h a t i t r e s u l te d in th e o c c u rre n c e o f a d e f i n i t e c l i n i c a l e n t i t y which was d e sc rib e d b r ie f ly to him; and he was ad v ised to tu rn th e in fo rm atio n over to h is m edical departm ent. 4 W il la r d M ach le, M.
