W are sending under separate cover some Medical Record Forms and copies of our Policy & Procedure for Medical Service to Iteployees* Will you please hold these until I arrive on
July 9.
I have an appointment to visit Dr. Andrd&s of the Southern
Monterey County Medical. Croup on July 9.
.
As you know, we will be processing asbestos in the new plant and expect there will not be ah excessive exposure to the .
dust. Nevertheless, in interviewing prospective employees it
would seem advisable not to hire men for work in the plant who have had a history of hard rook mining. Such workers have
been exposed to silica dust in such work. Will discuss this further when I see you.
Warm personal regards.
Sincerely,
Thomas W. Jf&le, M.D. hk

Dear Dr* Andrus:
I trust that you found Mr., IfoDaniel helpful in his
talk to your group at their breakfast meeting recently in King City and I hope that at some time one of our medical men can give the medical side of the picture of environmental health.
I understand there has been some discussion relative to the measurement of blood cholinesterase In men exposed to certain of the insecticide formulations In your area. I am enclosing a copy of "Measurement of Blood Cholinesterase" which is a reprint from ARCHIVES OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH April 1963
Vol. 6, pp* 537-563. I trust you will find this useful.
Very truly yours
