Authority is requested to undertake the investigation identified above and ' described as follows:
Determine amount of lead absorbed (via skin) from paint containing 1.2% or 6.0% lead naphthanate or- 1.2% lead tailate.
1. Rabbits - 10 per group
2. Group A - controls, B-l.2% lead naphthanate in paint, C-6L% lead naphthanate in paint, D-l.2% lead tailate in paint.
3. Treat rabbits once/day, 5 days/week for 2 weeks.- Use 1 ml paint per treatment. Do not wash off.
4. Blood samples - day 0, day 5, day 10, and day 15. A preliminary study is required to determine whether anode stripping vo1tametry can be used instead of the dithizone method to measure blood lead concentrations.
