Gottesman, Ph.D. The Vinyl Institute Wayne Interchange Plaza 155 Route 46 West Wayne, New Jersey 07470 II Rome: Copy- Re EPA Land Disposal Ban Comments Dear Roy: r:l X- Enclosed is a copy of the comments we filed on behalf of the Vinyl Institute with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in response to its December 1986 proposed regulations [governing the land disposal of halogenated organic compounds rand other "California list wastes." The comments are the same as those circulated in draft form with my letter of January 15, 1987, because no one suggested any changes. To ensure coordination, we sent a copy of our draft comments to Janet Matey at the Chemical Manufacturers Association. Last Friday I received the enclosed letter and draft comments from her. CMA addressed the broader issues involved in this EPA rulemaking and I see no conflict between the Vinyl Institute and CMA positions. A copy of the CMA draft comments are enclosed. If I can be of any further assistance, please give me a call. Cordially yours, Peter L. de la Cruz Enclosures cc: Robert D. Luss, Esquire W.C. Holbrook Charles E. O'Connell Lewis R.
