IT) HARRISON BULLETIN COLORS (Continued) Us e d b y Bulletin Board Manufacturers Sign Painters Us ed f o r --Sign Painting Distemper Colors.--These water or fresco colors are made from very carefully selected pigments, ground into a paste with pure water. They do not contain any size or binding material, and inasmuch as they do not contain any fermenting material, the paste will remain sweet for an indefinite period. They are very high in tinting strength, and suitable for the highest grades of work. In preparing for use the binding material is usually fine, powdered glue, dissolved in water. The base, which is usually Paris White or Extra Gilders' Whiting, should be made into a smooth paste, the glue water then incorporated and the color added. Many of the colors are very sensitive to the action of lime, and some even to Paris White itself; care, therefore, must be exercised to have all plastered surfaces thoroughly seasoned.
