Dear Professor Kehoe, Dr. Alan JBell of Sydney, who I believe visited your laboratoiy during last summer, has referred to the alleged occurrence in the U.S.A. of lead poisoning in two people after using for four days, chinaware on which an inferior quality glaze had been applied. Presumably, in the glaze, there was seme free lead which washed out easily. Dr. Bell mentioned this event at the last meeting of the Occupational Health Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, and as Secretary of the Committee, I was requested to write to you in an endeavour to obtain further information. Accordingly, if you are aware of this incident, and could supply more complete details, my Comaittee would be most appreciative. I still have very happy recollections of my visit to your department, and of meeting you and your colleagues, in July, 194T* Unfortunately, I have not since had an opportunity of visiting the U.S.A,, but still have seme hopes for the future.
